Ile de la Passe is a small but very historic island off the south-east coast of Mauritius. This island played an important role during the famous Battle of Grand Port over the possession of the harbour between the 20th-27th of August 1810.The French Navy’s victory over the British Royal Navy at that time marks the only victory under the Napoleonic regime and as such is commemorated by an inscription on the Arc De Triomphe in Paris.
Also known as Ile aux Fouquets, Ile Phare was amongst the first ones to be discovered in 1598 by the Dutch settlers. L'Ile Phare bears its name by virtue of a lighthouse built in 1864, which was still operational until beginning of the 20th century.Historically, Ile au Phare, situated within the bay of Mahébourg has fulfilled a strategic purpose during the naval battles at Grand Port.
Ile aux Cerfs Island , known in English as the deer island is an island near the east coast of Mauritius in the Flacq district. Nowadays there are no more deers on the island, but you will find there some of the worlds beautiful beaches and as such it is one of the must place to visit and see in Mauritius. Ile Aux Cerfs is famous for its sandy beaches, beautiful lagoon and big selection of activities and facilities.
It features approximately around 3 - 5 minute flight with approximately 800 feet of line deployment, and one free-fall dip. Parasailing in Trou D’eau Douce is an exhilarating experience. Once you are up in the parachute, you’ll feel like you are literally “floating on air.” You will be fit with a parasail harness, and seated next to your partner on the deck and launched and retrieved with a hydraulic winch system.
