Day 1: Tamarind Hotel, Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya! Upon your arrival in Nairobi, a representative will assist you through immigration and customs. Your guest manager will escort you to the Tamarind Hotel in a private vehicle. Enjoy a ‘welcome’ safari briefing and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta Sweetwater’s Camp
Wake up early for a morning game drive and breakfast. Then, head off with your safari guide over the Serengeti plains and into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing Olduvai Gorge, a fascinating archaeological site, en route. Arrive at Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro, a luxury retreat set adjacent to the crater within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate. Relax and soak in the exceptional beauty surrounding you. Dinner will be served in The Manor’s restaurant.
Day 3: Ol Pejeta Sweetwater’s Camp
Start the day early before descending the narrow track to the crater floor for a picnic breakfast. Explore this Eden-like setting on the myriad of tracks around the crater floor, home to a multitude of animal and bird species, including the black rhino. In the early afternoon, ascend the narrow track for a late lunch and a siesta. Enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets over the coffee plantations before dinner is served.
Day 4: Rift Valley Navaisha Simba
After breakfast, depart for the Great Rift Valley, known for its hot springs, geysers, volcanoes, and some of the world’s oldest, largest, and deepest lakes. The alkaline shallow soda lakes are famous for their flamingo flocks, which gather to feed and breed along the lakeshore. Arrive at Governors’ Loldia House, located on a farm on the banks of Lake Naivasha, one of two freshwater lakes on the rift. Settle in and spend the afternoon relaxing while taking in the views. Enjoy dinner under the star-studded sky.
Day 5: Rift Valley Navaisha Simba
Head out on a game drive to explore Lake Nakuru National Park, home to over 500 species of birds. The park is also a breeding sanctuary for the endangered black rhino, white rhino, and the rare Rothschild giraffe. Spend a leisurely afternoon at the lodge before dinner is served.
Day 6: Masai Mara - Mara Simba
After breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to enter the Masai Mara National Reserve. Begin game viewing immediately, passing wildlife herds on the vast savannah plains before arriving at Governors’ Camp. This peaceful retreat is nestled in a riverine forest on the banks of the Mara River. Settle into your classic safari-style tent, freshen up, and head out on your first game drive. Enjoy dinner around the crackling campfire.
Day 7 & 8: Masai Mara - Mara Simba
Spend two full days in your 4×4 game viewing vehicle, exploring the exceptional wildlife of the Masai Mara. Witness the sunrise over the savannah grasslands, with silhouettes of giraffes, elephants, wildebeests, and more on the horizon. Return to camp for lunch and leisure before heading out on your next game drive. The opportunities are endless – a predator stalking its prey, a fish eagle calling over the river, or a calf being born. Enjoy dinner at the camp and end the day under the starry African sky.
Day 9: Depart Nairobi
After breakfast at Mara Simba, enjoy a final morning game drive en route to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport. A Wildlife Safari representative will meet and transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
